“French Immersion in Biblical Studies is an excellent program mixing both Bible-based and language-based learning into a one-year program. It was a good challenge that allowed me to make friends, learn French, learn about God and expose myself to a lot of different possibilities as a result of becoming bilingual. A lot of good Christian people were there to encourage me and help me out as the year went along and I was able to express myself more clearly in French.”

Jason Goudy, student in the first class of the French Immersion in Biblical Studies program, 2005-2006.

Jason is from Markdale, Ontario. After his studies in the Immersion program, he volunteered as a Resident assistant at Parole de Vie Béthel for one year.

“It's impossible to not speak French if everyone around you is and you want to be understood. If you want to become fluent, there is no better way than to be immersed. If you want to increase your Biblical knowledge, what better way than to put yourself with others who are like-minded and passionate about the Word of God. Parole de Vie Béthel's French Immersion program gives you both of these opportunities, plus amazing ministry adventures throughout Eastern Canada and Québec. An experience you won't forget.”

Sarah Palmer, student in the first class of the French Immersion in Biblical Studies program, 2005-2006.

Sarah is from Parry Sound, Ontario. She now lives and works in Montréal where she is able to continue to improve her fluency in French.

“My year at PDVB was amazing. I made a bunch of friends, I improved my French a lot, but most importantly, I grew so much closer in my relationship with God. It was amazing to see Him take control of my life. To be honest, it was tough starting out not knowing much French, but it became much easier after the first month. It was the best 11 months of schooling I have ever had, it was challenging, mind blowing, and fun! If I had the chance, I'd go back in a heartbeat!”

Charlotte Smith, student in the first class of the French Immersion in Biblical Studies program, 2005-2006.

Charlotte comes from Hampshire, P.E.I. She is currently studying at the University of P.E.I

“My time at Parole de Vie Bethel was a year of adventure that I will never forget or regret. We traveled all over Quebec and visited many ministries in the province. It opened my eyes to the need for God’s Word to be taught to the people of Quebec. The staff and the students were really supportive and helped me to learn French. It is a year worthwhile for those who want to learn more French, increase their biblical knowledge, and broaden their horizons concerning missions in Quebec and around the world.”

Emily Ruth Allison, student in 2006-2007.

Emily comes from Carleton Place, Ontario. She is currently studying music in B.C.
